• Bei Wendelstein 7-X sind diese Spulen ''supraleitend'', d. h. ein einmal eingespeister Strom kann darin ohne elektrischen Widerstand beliebig lange fließen und das Magnetfeld somit dauerhaft aufrechterhalten.در وندلشتاین ۷-X این سیم‌پیچ‌ها "ابررسانا" هستند، یعنی جریانی که یک بار در آنها تزریق شده است می‌تواند بدون مقاومت الکتریکی برای همیشه در آنها جریان داشته باشد و بنابراین میدان مغناطیسی را به طور دائم حفظ کند.
